Ableton Live 11 – Tutorial for Beginners in 12 MINUTES!
Overview
Here are my notes taken using a rather nice timestamp style. The video I decided to use regards using Ableton Live 11, the preferred DAW I like to use.
Notes
- Views in Ableton and Locations; Arrangement normally used
- Importing audio sample files or MIDI files
- Using clips or removing them
- Playing all clips at once via the Master track
- Using any external audio devices and setting them up
- Arming a track explanation
- Managing properties
- Changing BPM or speed in variation with clips
- Managing MIDI files
- Importing Drums, Synths, etc. as a MIDI
- Using the Piano Roll overview
- You can hold the ALT or CMD key to avoid snappings
- Adjusting the velocity of each note
- Using the solo button for muting tracks
- Using VSTs or other effects on tracks

Summary
Ableton Live 11 is a powerful DAW which can be used for many purposes. Ableton can be simple to learn but with anything new difficulties may exist. Personally I was able to go straight into using Ableton but throughout this video I have learned features or tips that I didn’t think about when just diving into Ableton.
